Step 01
Open any Epic
Navigate to a Jira epic in any company-managed project. The EpicViz panel appears automatically in the issue view — no configuration needed.
EpicViz reads your Jira epic and child issues, then generates production-quality architecture diagrams — flowcharts, C4, and sequence diagrams — directly in the issue panel. No copy-pasting. No Lucidchart tabs.

How it works
EpicViz runs inside your Jira issue — no external app to configure, no API keys to manage as a user.
Step 01
Navigate to a Jira epic in any company-managed project. The EpicViz panel appears automatically in the issue view — no configuration needed.
Step 02
Select from Flowchart, C4 Context, C4 Container, or Sequence Diagram depending on what you want to communicate — architecture, user flows, or service interactions.
Step 03
Click Generate. EpicViz reads your epic's title, description, labels, and all child issues, then produces a clean diagram in seconds. Copy the Mermaid source or screenshot the SVG.
Diagram types
Different stakeholders need different views. EpicViz generates all four — you just switch the dropdown.
Maps the components and data flows of your epic. Color-coded by layer — frontend, backend, data stores, external services.
Best for: engineering reviews, onboarding, sprint planning
High-level system map showing users, the system under development, and external dependencies. Ideal for stakeholder presentations.
Best for: architecture reviews, product documentation, stakeholder communication
Service-level architecture within the system boundary. Shows containers, their technologies, and how they communicate.
Best for: technical design docs, microservices mapping, infrastructure planning
Step-by-step interaction timeline between services. Shows request/response flows and which systems are involved at each stage.
Best for: API design, debugging, async flow documentation
Built for engineering teams
EpicViz uses GPT-4o with diagram-specific system prompts tuned for clean, publication-quality Mermaid output — not generic AI slop.
All function calls execute on Atlassian's own serverless infrastructure. Your Jira data never touches a third-party server outside of Atlassian's platform.
No export, no import, no Lucidchart tab. Open your epic, click Generate, and the diagram is live inside the issue panel.
EpicViz fetches all stories, tasks, and bugs linked to the epic and uses them as context — so the diagram reflects your actual work, not just the epic description.
As your epic evolves, regenerate the diagram with one click. Switch diagram types without losing your epic context — EpicViz re-reads fresh every time.
Toggle to source view to copy the raw Mermaid syntax. Paste it into any docs tool, Confluence page, or GitHub README that supports Mermaid rendering.
